The holiday club, suitably named The Boat Club, is situated in a large and spacious room within the nursery. Providing the children with their own facilities suited to their age. This is their room, giving them the opportunity to meet with friends, make new friends and have lots of fun. After all that is what school holidays are all about.
They will play in a stimulating environment, split into two areas, one half is designed for them to relax, chat with friends, play games, read and watch television and so on. The other area is designed for more adventurous play. With creative activities such as painting, baking, making their own meals (under supervision), playing pool or snooker, along with with many other gross and fine motor activities.
The children also have access to the outdoor play area, and activity centre allowing them to let off steam and gain knowledge of the environment around them.
As well as all this, the children will be taken out on day trips. This can include nature walks, picnics in the park, trips to the cinema, visits to activity centres, and even places of interest such as Eureka. All of these give your child a very enjoyable day out.
The children are encouraged to get involved with what happens while at their club. We like to involve them in the day to day planning of activities making sure we are doing what the children want to do.
A weekly routine will be displayed at the beginning of each week, to let you know what your child will be doing throughout each day.
An example week may include:
Monday - Dobson’s Sweet Factory and a treat to take home
Tuesday - Hike on the moors, picnic, paddling and ball games
Wednesday - Train ride – To who knows where?
Thursday - Swimming followed by fish and chips for lunch
Friday - Trip to the park and a picnic lunch
We want you, the parent, to feel happy and confident with peace of mind that your child is being cared for by qualified staff whilst having lots of fun.
To register please contact us. Dates of school holidays will be confirmed with you three weeks prior to each holiday.
The children will arrive at nursery in the morning, a variety of activities are available for them before a member of staff takes them to school.
At the end of their school day our member of staff will be there waiting for them, ready to bring them back to nursery where they will be given a light tea, which can range from sandwiches or baked potatoes to pizza and soup. They will also be offered a variety of fruit or home made pastries. The children often have the opportunity to help make their own tea if they wish.
A homework area is provided for the children's use. Here we encourage them to do any homework or read their books, all with the support of our staff.
As well as this a wide variety of activities are available for the children. This is the children's time and here at Waters Edge they get the opportunity to spend it as they wish. Whether it is playing in a group with friends, reading, watching children's television or being creative, it is their choice.
